Interview ‘no-no’s from Career Builder
CareerBuilder.com has released its yearly survey of the strangest interview mistakes of job candidates. Here are their top favorites:
• “Candidate smelled his armpits on the way to the interview room.”
• “Candidate told the interviewer he was fired for beating up his last boss.”
• “Candidate flushed the toilet while talking to interviewer during phone interview.”
Of course, none of you readers would make these mistakes!

26% of hiring managers using Internet search engines and of those 63% dismissed candidates on basis of information they found .

The number of interviewers checking online is going to keep increasing.
CIPD report that women are more likely to be appointed to board level “glass cliff” positions.
That is women go into jobs with significant problems. This could explain why a previous report found companies who appointed female chief executives did less well.
After all if you bring a company back from bankruptcy it may still not earn great profits.
Proves all these reports should never be taken at face value, you’ve got to dig underneath.
