Choosing a Psychometric Tester

Before making a decision to proceed with a specific psychometric tester make sure you have the answers to the following questions.

  1. What qualifications does the tester hold?
  2. Do they have a code of ethics?
  3. What is the purpose of the test?
  4. Has this test been reviewed by the British Psychological Society (BPS)?
  5. Will a trained tester interpret the assessment?
  6. Will I receive a written report?
  7. Is there a cancellation fee if I cancel with less than 48 hours notice?
  8. How long will the assessment and feedback sessions take?
  9. Where will the session be held?
  10. Will I be assessed as part of a group or will it be a one to one session?
  11. How are the results kept confidential?
  12. Does the tester have a Data protection policy in place as required by legislation?
  13. Can anybody else access these results without my permission?
  14. How long are the results stored before being destroyed?
